Now that the transformation of the spring meeting into AMIA Now! is clear to you as more than simply putting old wine into a new bottle, let me tell you what attendees gained from its debut on May 25-27:
- Small sessions engaged participants in discussion about new information ready to be applied in the field,
- “Fireside chats” allowed leaders and experts to discuss opinions about topics relevant to the field, and
- In hands-on workshops, meeting participants acquired the specific skills and training requested for this event.
This meeting was for those who recognize the need to apply the vast evidence base from biomedical and health informatics to their organization’s overall strategy and their own on-the-job performance. It was ideal for graduates of short courses, past and present 10x10 students, CMIOs, public health officials, and new CTSA/clinical research informatics teams!
We look forward to welcoming you at next year's meeting in Orlando, Florida!
Kevin Johnson
